Ambassadors representing various countries have been sworn in today by President Sahele Wark.
In her speech, the President said Ethiopia is a country with a long diplomatic history and is known on the world stage for its leaders, history and athletes.
“Being an ambassador is a great responsibility,” she said. It is the appearance of Ethiopia in the country where you are assigned.
The country is ruined by the mistake of one ambassador. Remember for a moment that you are moving, not just in heart, but in action. You know that this is not a holiday. ”

The ambassadors appointed recently by H.E. President Sahle-work Zewde took an oath before the President today (February 25). President Sahle-Work Zewde and H.E.Demeke Mekonnen, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ethiopia have expressed their hope that the ambassadors would do their level best in carrying out their responsibilities and creating stronger ties between Ethiopia and the countries that they are assigned to.
Finally, “If there is no country, there is no diplomat. Today is the time for all of us to stand up and fight for our country.” She encouraged the appointed ambassadors.
