In her opening remarks at a forum organized by the Ministry of Peace under the theme “New Hope”, President Sahele Work Zewde said the spirit of unity and patriotism that we have shown in Adwa needs to flourish and lead us to grow and strengthen our country.
Meanwhile, President Sahle-Work Zewde kicked off Women’s Month by holding a global virtual webinar with prominent Ethiopian women and women of Ethiopian origin. The discussion, which mainly dealt with the role of prominent and successful women in empowering and supporting young Ethiopian women and girls, was attended by women from various fields and expertise. 
The participants expressed their interest in and commitment to supporting and participating in the various initiatives that the President has been championing.
Since her swearing in ceremony, President Sahle-Work Zewde has maintained that women’s issues cannot be limited to one day and that they should be earnestly worked on every day of the year.
