Implementation of Road Ban in the Amhara Region

The recently implemented order has had a notable effect on removing the impediments previously encountered in the execution of military operations and the safeguarding of civilians. Furthermore, it has been officially confirmed to the international community and the people of our country that the Amhara people are in support of Fano.

We would like to express our gratitude to the general public for adhering to the prescribed precautionary instructions without exception, as of tomorrow, 29 September 2017. The following travel arrangements will be in place:

  1. Passenger Travel: Passengers traveling from any direction to West, North, Wolkait Setit, Humera, and Central Gondar Zones are permitted to do so.
  2. Vehicle Movement: Vehicle movement in the North Showa zone of the Amhara region is permitted.
  3. Road Transport: Road transport is the only form of transport permitted in all Wolo areas.

You will be informed when this process is complete. Once the situation in other areas allows, an alternative order will be issued. Further details will be provided in due course.

Ensuring Civilian Safety in the Amhara Region

In a decisive move to ensure the safety of civilians, our Forces have been diligently implementing an order since 23 September 2017, which mandates the closure of roads to vehicles across the entire Amhara region. This measure has had a significant impact on both military operations and the protection of civilians.
The order has greatly enhanced our ability to conduct military operations effectively while prioritising the safety of the civilian population. It has been officially confirmed to the international community and the people of our country that the Amhara people stand in solidarity with the Fano Freedom Fighters.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to our people for their compliance with the precautionary instructions. With effect from tomorrow, 29 September 2017, the following travel arrangements will be in place:

  1. Passenger Travel: Movement from any direction to the West, North, Wolkait Setit Humera, and Central Gondar Zones will be regulated.
  2. Vehicle Movement: Restrictions will apply to vehicle movement in the North Showa zone of the Amhara region.

An alternative order will be issued when the situation in other areas permits.

We wish to announce that the Hundred Mountains campaign is still in progress. We seize this opportunity to honour the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in this endeavour. We are gratified to report that the Amhara people have emerged triumphant, exemplifying resilience and unity in the process.

This victory is a testament to the strength and determination of our people, and we remain committed to ensuring their safety and well-being.

We are pleased to announce that the Hundred Mountains campaign is still ongoing. We would like to extend our gratitude to the martyrs and wish the Amhara people continued success.
