Addis Ababa City Administration Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission has graduated 189 professionals.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Addis Ababa City Deputy General Manager, Tiratu Beyene, Addis Ababa Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission Commissioner Solomon Fesseha and other senior officials and graduating families.
During the six months, the trainees received training in disaster risk reduction, first aid, emergency support and rehabilitation, disaster dispatch and information dissemination, occupational ethics, disaster risk management concept and military procession and other trainings. Aman Assefa said.
The head of the training centre added that he is receiving training requests from different regions and is training and deploying emergency workers for industrial parks being constructed in different parts of the country.
Addis Ababa Fire and Disaster Risk Management Commission Commissioner, Solomon Fesseha, said disaster management is a profession that requires cooperation, compassion, kindness and humanity.
Addis Ababa City General Manager, Ato Tiratu Beyene, who was present at the ceremony, said that the graduates have a great responsibility to protect the precious human life, property and development infrastructure from any accident.
He said the city administration will stand by the commission to provide the necessary support to the graduates to carry out their knowledge and skills with honesty, sincerity and responsibility.
