The president of FDRE stated that the government has decided to negotiate with TPLF in order to ensure the interest of the country.
The FDRE(Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia) President Mrs. Sahlework Zewde announced that the government will respect the country’s interest and will strive to make sustainable negotiations with TPLF.
The president expressed this in the speech she made at the opening ceremony of the two councils’ second year term.
At the same time, she pointed out that the government has decided to negotiate with TPLF-that will respect the interests of the country by understanding the questions of peace and democracy. However, she taught them that the necessary measures will be taken to mitigate any violence caused by stepping on this peaceful option.
According to the president, the 2015 budget year will be a year where conflicts will be resolved through discussion and negotiation, the work of the consultation commission will be strengthened, the development that has started will continue, and the efforts will be made to solve the problems faced by the people.
The president also said that the implementation of physical and financial policies is something that other governments will focus on in the fiscal year to stabilise the inflation that the country is facing and to establish a healthy macro-economic system.
President Alework Zewde stated that the government will focus on creating job opportunities for citizens based on the growing population.
The president made the statement on the opening ceremony of the 6th FDRE House of People’s Representatives and the House of Federation 2nd year term.
Although the opening ceremony of the 2014 budget year, the president mentioned that the plan has been promising in the political, economic and diplomatic sectors, conflict and displacement are the main problems we have faced.
She also pointed out that the economy has not been affected by the scar, the economic destruction caused by war and the negative effects of floods and drought, rather it is a great achievement.
The president stated that one of the sectors that have done a lot of work in the last fiscal year is the social service sector where one million volunteers participated.
She said that the measures taken by the government to coordinate the people and other stakeholders to rebuild especially the war-torn health institutions and schools that were destroyed have had great results.
In the 2014 budget year, she stated that there has been a great result of volunteering; that is, about one million citizens have participated in volunteering by building houses for the weak, building new and old schools.
The president said that the government will work hard in order to achieve better results by correcting the weaknesses in the social sector.
