According to Fikru, Assistant Commissioner of Research, a study has been conducted on the title and the structural designation of the institution. He said the federal police rank and designation should be accountable to the Prime Minister.
In the future, units with similar work characteristics will be organized in one place, he said, adding that the existing work units will be upgraded and reorganized.
Assistant Commissioner Fikru Wonde said administrative and development, support and service, weapons management and control, Central Police Intelligence, Construction and Engineering, Police Garage and Discipline Supervision Units will be organized as the main department.
During the panel discussion, international relations, regional police affairs, inspections, institutional and infrastructure police, police clubs and stores, and police foundation will be set up.
Under the Office of the Commissioner General and the Deputy Chief of Staff, two directors will be promoted to the General Directorate and become the Head of International and External Relations and Central Intelligence.
Assistant Commissioner Fikru said the Central Intelligence Agency will have six directors under it.
He said the community policing unit will go to crime prevention and women’s issues will be included in the administrative development sector in order to provide better and stronger services to the community.
Assistant Commissioner Fikru said border security, tourism, university, industry, airline or aviation, subway and customs police will be set up in the future.
He also said that any training provided by the institute will be conducted by the Ethiopian Police University.
It is also stated that the institute is working hard to improve the living conditions of the army and to protect the responsibilities and responsibilities of professionals.
