The Ethiopian Christmas this year was not celebrated by All Ethiopians due to war and poverty. In spite of fake deals between politicians, technically the country is still in a state of war. The country still has many internally displaced people, traumatised and grieving families, loss of property and income, Occupation by Eritrean mercenaries, endemic corruption, and inequality.
The Ethiopian political class still promotes a blue eyed Caucasian Jesus as their saviour. Thus, the political class suffers from mental slavery and are agents of imperialism.
The most heart breaking thing witnessed during Christmas period, is the level of poverty and inequality in Ethiopia. How do politicians manage to sleep at night, when they know that the majority of their people are not living, but surviving by the grace of God??.
The only positive thing that was witnessed during the Ethiopian Christmas period, is the generosity and kind hearted spirit among Ethiopians. The youth mobilised themselves, and fed the most vulnerable members of our society. Of course, the political class and careerist diplomats saw the occasion as a photo opportunity to promote their selfish egos.
When a country is hostage to capitalist hyenas, don’t expect the quality of living standards in Ethiopia to improve soon. However, we shall continue to see inequality, hunger and poverty being used as a weapon by the political cabal to subjugate the Ethiopian people. Thus, a hungry and poor populace will never have time to think of regime change, but where the next meal will come from.
